A New Year, A New Home (and a Very Quiet Blog)

Happy New Year 🤍

It has been awhile! My blog has taken a back seat lately while we packed, moved, unpacked and set up in our new home!!!

And if you’ve ever moved house, you’ll know that “moving in” isn’t a moment – it’s a season.

A season of boxes everywhere, half-unpacked drawers, lost scissors, and the constant feeling that you should be doing something productive… while also desperately needing to sit down.

The last few weeks have been filled with packing, cleaning, unpacking, sorting, re-sorting, and slowly turning this place into our place. Finding homes for things. Letting go of things that didn’t make the move. Learning how the light moves through the rooms. Listening to the birds in the mornings and realising how different everything feels.

It’s been grounding.

And exhausting.

And really, really good.

Somewhere between organising cupboards and deciding where the couch should live, this blog quietly went into pause mode. Not intentionally, just naturally. And honestly? I’m okay with that.

Because this new year doesn’t feel like a “new me” situation. It feels more like a settling in year. A year of building rhythms. Of creating calm where we can. Of letting life feel a little slower, even when it’s busy.

This home already feels like a fresh chapter. Not perfect. Not Pinterest-ready. But real. Lived-in. Full of possibility.

So here I am, easing back into writing. No big promises. No dramatic reinvention. Just showing up again, sharing little pieces of life, chaos, organisation, and everything in between.

If you’re also starting the year surrounded by half-finished to-do lists, unopened boxes (literal or mental), or a sense that you’re still finding your feet you’re not behind. You’re just arriving.

Here’s to a new year.

Here’s to new spaces.

And here’s to taking our time making them feel like home.
